Are You Desperate?
Desperate (of a person) - having a great need or desire for something.
John Knox, the Scottish Reformer prayed: ‘Give me Scotland, or I die!’
Rachel cried: ‘Give me children or I’ll die!’ (Genesis 30:1)
What are you willing to die for? Do you have a mission as a Christian?
According to Wikipedia:
Christian mission is an organized effort to spread Christianity to new converts. Missions involve sending individuals and groups across boundaries, most commonly geographical boundaries, to carry on evangelism or other activities, such as educational or hospital work.
We cross all sorts of boundaries when we go to work.
We cross racial, cultural, religious, age, gender, etc. We are sent on mission to a different kingdom culture every time we go to work. We are to bring God’s Kingdom to bear on everything we do - in our attitude, actions and words. We are to live in constant awareness of who we are and whose we are – we are citizens of an eternal Kingdom, subjects of a Divine King.
God has a mission…
He gave his Son, His one and only Son.
And this is why:
So that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. John 3:16 MSG
God has a mission for you:
He creates each of us…to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. Ephesians 2:10 MSG
God is desperate to get His mission done. What about you?
