Mission Endeavours (Dedicated...)

There is a renewed stirring of great mission endeavours in the air.

Individuals are being stirred to uproot and move to strategic places around the country, and even around the world. It started in earnest about three years ago.  

Can you see it?

Also, there is a stirring of a great mission activity in the North. There is great movement there already, but people are needed on the ground to help work it and pray it through. Indigenous northerners have been ploughing for decades, but now there is an acceleration and even great demonstration, as people move in from all over the world, who have heard the call.

God is calling people to GO!  See: 'The Epic Restructuring' 

Some will hear the bidding to uproot, rise and move. It will be messy. Lives and lifestyles may need to change. Relationships may shift, careers may change.

What will be required is a drastic change to accommodate what the Lord is doing. The 'heavenly vision' is critical and may not consider personal convenience or comfort, nor religious protocols, cultures and traditions.

There is much activity in the southern parts of the UK, there is a need for a parallel spiritual fervour and rigour in the northern parts. Even more so. The harvest there is ripe.

Pray for the North especially, but also for the UK wholly, and feel and carry God's heart and passion for it; for ALL people lost, last, lame, and least.

INSPIRATION

It is a 'this is that' moment in history Acts 2:16. Old believers known and unknown, past and present have spoken about these days.

Smith Wigglesworth in 1947 was one of the first to 'see' it in the future and tell his protege Dr Lester Sumrall and others. Also, Dr R T Kendall has spent the last 10 years or so sharing with great urgency in his talks in London, that there is coming a Great Awakening. Also, someone I have come to respect very much for his tenacious belief that 'a move of revival was coming' is the remarkable 86 year old connect group leader / lay leader at HTB, London, Elder David Hurst - he actually lives for revival.

We owe it to these 'Simeons and Annas' who have over years and decades seen, prayed and proclaimed the hope that God will move again in power in our generation to rescue the world from its present trials and troubles.

We owe it to these saints to seize the moment. That is why hearts are set on going to both highlands and lowlands alike.

Some are already on the move as technology has brought the world closer, and communications, broadcasting media, virtual gatherings, online streaming, and remote working are now a global reality opening up many opportunities.

PREPARATION

Currently, numerous prayer streams have strung up and people are gathering online and in person to pray daily, weekly, monthly, as often as possible; and dreams and visions have become common, prevalent and widespread as people are being stirred and led to do diverse and incredible things.

Time is of the essence.

There is an urgency and it is vitally important that individuals find where they belong and move quickly into that place.

We have been in a place of preparation and pruning, but that time has come to an end.  There is much work to be done in partnership with the Lord - praying, fasting, walking, talking, writing, going, gathering, proclaiming, demonstrating, transforming - whatever is required of us to work with Jesus to see His Passion for the Nations gathered in - in our generation.

If not you and I, Who? If not now, When?

So, let’s use every possible platform and forum to disseminate The Good News!

Let’s go wherever He sends us online or in person.

• Let’s maximise social media in our private spaces.

• Let’s prayer-walk, (sing joyfully), and share the gospel in public places.

• Let's take marquees and take a stand in town centres.

• Let’s stand, share and care on high streets and shopping centres.

• Let’s revive and modernise the old Christian tent revivals.

• Let’s sit, listen and love in local cafes, coffee shops and eateries.

• Let’s speak up in our schools, universities, hospitals, neighbourhoods, workplaces, families, and wherever else life takes us.

It's a proven fact that the praying presence of believers changes atmospheres. So, we need to bring the Kingdom into every community - every believer, young and old, male and female is a priest and a kingdom.

The Kingdom is Jesus Christ ruling and reigning in willing individual and congregational hearts and minds. Not necessarily Protestant, Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian or Pentecostal, nor based on culture, tradition or any religious history.

Let’s obey The Great Commission and take the Gospel to the ends of the earth, literally. The most northern part of the UK is Scotland. Christianity in Scotland according to statistics is currently about 38%.

Since 2016, humanists have conducted more weddings in Scotland each year than either the Catholic Church, Church of Scotland, or any other religion and by 2022 the number of humanist marriages outnumbered all religious ceremonies combined.

I would like to dedicate this article

to someone who is one of the founding persons of connect groups at HTB London where I took refuge for a couple of years during a time of transition. At 86 years of age, his commitment to his connect group, to revival, and to missions in the Global South where he has served on various strategic missions is remarkable.

He is a father and mentor to many leaders around the world, and has been to me for the relatively short time I have known him.
